Workshop format for the IdA Congress

Discussion with the audience: 30 min

Each workshop will be composed of only 1 session

The people in charge of the workshops are encouraged to submit workshop proposals focusing on the state of the science in their fields, highlighting methodological, historiographical and conceptual reflexions. Workshops last 2h00 (each workshop session can include a maximum of 5 synthetic interventions – a maximum of 15 minutes– to give time for the discussion). It will be asked to the communicators selected (after the call for paper proposals) to put online their works a couple of weeks before the Congress. Papers will be available to the audience to make the sessions more successful. For the 2025 IdA Congress, registration, transportation and accommodation costs will be paid by the participants
(organizers and communicators).

Application process
a. Workshop presentation with a title, a purpose and a short pitch (around 20 lines) written in French and a second American language
b. Applicant’s presentation of 2 coordinators ((as far as possible one specialized in North America, the other in Latin America): names, short resumes, contact details, institution (members institutions of IdA) for each applicant.

Proposals should be sent by March 18th, 2024 at the latest at the following address: recherche@institutdesameriques.fr
They will be examined by the organizing committee and the scientific committee of the Congress.
