Abstract :
Research-creation is an emerging indiscipline in French universities, where its definition has a strong humanities dimension. It seeks to hybridize more traditional research and artistic methods, in order to question research and produce knowledge through new thought experiments. Research-creation was born in this form in Canada, where it has become an integral part of university practice. It is also important in Brazil, and is developing in Argentina and Mexico, whereas it is not practiced under this term in the United States. In this round table, we'll be exploring the current state - and diversity - of trans-American research-creation landscape. By calling on colleagues (teacher-researchers and doctoral students) specializing in Quebec, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, the Caribbean and the United States, we'll be looking at the ways in which research-creation has developed in the academic contexts of these countries: its growth, its relative acceptance, its limits in the heterogeneous economic and academic contexts of the Americas.
