Abstract :

The round table focuses on women's participation in the democracies of the Americas. It will analyze how women participated in the construction of democratic institutions between the end of the 19th century and the 20th century. The round table will examine women's involvement in the mobilization for the right to vote, in the suffragist movement and in feminist struggles. The trans-American dimension will enable us to compare different national situations and gain a better understanding of the specific forms of women's mobilization.
