The Institut des Amériques Monograph Award recognizes a recent work (an original research monograph) written by a faculty researcher or scholar affiliated with a member institution of the Institut des Amériques network. Only works authored by a single author are eligible. Theses (or monographs derived from doctoral theses) and collective volumes are not eligible. Submissions that do not meet the scientific standards (such as notes, substantial bibliography, etc.) will not be considered. The prize covers all disciplines within the humanities and social sciences. The work may be written in one of the four main languages of the Americas (French, English, Spanish, Portuguese).
