With the aim to promote scientific cooperation between France and Brazil, this photographic exhibition offers a glimpse into the fieldwork carried out by French researchers, doctoral students and students in Brazil. Through some fifteen photographs, it shows the diversity of the contexts of investigation, while offering a sensitive reading of the places, people and situations encountered in the course of this fieldwork.

The images presented here then reflect committed research experiences, embedded in a variety of social, cultural, political and scientific realities. They reflect the richness of field approaches and testify to the plurality of views on contemporary Brazil.

Organized by the Institut des Amériques, this exhibition is part of the Saison France-Brésil 2025, which marks the bicentenary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. It shares the objectives of this major event: to strengthen ties between French and Brazilian society through innovative, multi-disciplinary initiatives geared towards intercultural dialogue.

The exhibition will be held in the hall of the Centre des Colloques (Campus Condorcet, Aubervilliers), from Saturday September 27 to Wednesday October 8, 2025.

It is open to the general public.
